A decision table is a grid that lists combinations of conditions in rows and the outcome for each combination, so a decision can be read, checked and applied consistently.
What is a business rules management system?
A business rules management system (BRMS) is software for authoring, testing, versioning, governing and running business rules separately from application code.
Decision engine vs rules engine
A rules engine evaluates individual rules against data; a decision engine combines rules, data lookups and logic to answer a whole business question and explain the result.
Rules engine vs workflow engine
A workflow engine manages the sequence of steps, people and systems in a process; a rules engine decides the answer at a step. Most processes need both.
What is an approval matrix?
An approval matrix is a table that sets out who can approve which kinds of spend, commitment or exception, and up to what limit.
